We are recruiting Childrens Residential Support Workers for a brand-new OFSTED-registered childrens LD (Learning Disabilities) residential service in Stoke-On-Trent. This is a temp to perm opportunity supporting children and young people with learning disabilities within a newly established, specialist residential provision that is committed to delivering safe, nurturing, and high-quality care. This role offers the opportunity to join the service from its foundation, contributing to the development of a stable, therapeutic, and child-centred environment that promotes positive outcomes and meets OFSTEDs Quality Standards. Full training will be provided, including the opportunity to enrol on the Childrens Residential Level 3 qualification. Role Overview As a Childrens Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering care and support that is person-centred, trauma-informed, and aligned with individual care plans. You will support children to achieve positive outcomes across education, health, emotional wellbeing, and independence, in line with OFSTED expectations. Shift patterns include day shifts, early and late shifts, and sleep-in duties as part of a structured rota. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, consistent care that meets the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations and OFSTED Quality Standards Support children and young people with learning disabilities to feel safe, valued, and supported Promote positive behaviour through clear boundaries, structure, and positive behaviour support strategies Assist with personal care, daily routines, and domestic tasks, ensuring dignity and respect at all times Implement and follow individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans Support children to develop independence, life skills, and emotional resilience Build positive, trusting relationships with children, colleagues, families, and external professionals Maintain accurate, timely, and reflective records in line with OFSTED and organisational requirements Actively promote and uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and equality & diversity practices Requirements Experience working with children in a residential, care, or related setting is desirable Transferable experience (education, SEN, youth work, care, or support work) will be considered Experience supporting children with learning disabilities and/or complex needs Ability to work flexibly across day, early, late, and sleep-in shifts Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm, professional, and reflective Commitment to delivering care that meets OFSTED standards and regulatory requirements Willingness to commit to a temp to perm role within a new service Child and Adult Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred, but not essential) Full UK driving licence preferred Whats on Offer Temp to perm opportunity within a new OFSTED-registered childrens home Competitive hourly rates Comprehensive induction and ongoing training Opportunity to enrol on the Childrens Residential Level 3 qualification Clear progression pathways within a growing service Supportive management team with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and staff development
