Astute's Power team is partnering with a large-scale European Engineering and Construction company to recruit a Commissioning Engineer for a 9-month contract at its Cheshire site.
Key Skills and Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and control of components before tests.
2. Conducting cold tests on individual parts and sequences.
3. Performing hot tests and optimizing operating parameters of the flue gas treatment system.
4. Monitoring the operation of the flue gas system during hot commissioning (refer to safety protocols).
5. Participating in the training of the client’s operators.
6. Documentation and reporting:
1. Adhering to the LAB Commissioning schedule and informing the Construction Manager (CM) of any events impacting the schedule.
2. Completing test sheets or equivalent documentation and procedures.
3. Submitting weekly written reports to the commissioning manager as required.
4. Updating commissioning documents such as P&IDs, functional analysis feedback, operating and maintenance manuals, I/O lists, and alarm lists. Any modifications must be reported and approved by the CM.
5. Recording and managing all anomalies following established procedures.
6. Providing a logbook during the initial operation of the plant, documenting all significant events related to commissioning (issues, breakdowns, etc.).
