Service Leader – Gateshead
Full-time Hours
We are a supported living organisation specialising in bespoke support packages for people with learning disabilities and Autism who want to live fulfilling lives in their own homes, within their community. We are now looking for a Service Leader to join our team in the Gateshead area, supporting a wonderful young person with Autism and a Learning Disability as they take the exciting step of moving into their own home.

* £16.83per hour
* £97.68 – £122.10 per sleep-in
* Average annual salary of £38,000+

What We're Looking For

* Level 5 Social Care qualification (or willing to work towards this) and/or relevant training in supporting autistic people & those with learning disabilities
* Commitment to further training and development
* A person-centred, inclusive approach

* Experience working with individuals who displaybehavioursthat challenge
* Flexible, responsive, and person-centredsupport skills
* Experience ofleading a team within Health and Socialcare
* Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act
* Confidence using & implementing positivebehavioursupport plans
* Knowledge or experience of intensive interaction or rebound therapy (training can be provided)
* Effective communication skills and familiarity with communication aids (PECS, Now & Next, intensive interaction etc.)
* A clean driving licence and willingness to be a named driver
* Ability to swim and enjoy swimming activities
Key Responsibilities
* Take full responsibility for and work with the Operational Manager & Senior Manager for the effective daily running of your designated service
* Support the staff team to develop their skills & understanding of the supported person
* Ensure all policies, procedures, & guidelines for the support of the individual are met
* Carry out staff supervision, team meetings & appraisals, authorise annual leave, book staff training, complete return to work interviews
* Ensure risk assessments & Person-Centred support plans are updated when needed
* Ensure effective communication with all other parties that may be involved
* Be part of the interview process for new staff, ensuring they are mentored & onboarded
* Complete rotas & timesheets, complete monthly payroll reports
* Be responsible for managing finances within the service
* Update on-line data bases such as Coolcare,Camascopeand Nourish
* Be part of the staff team & work shifts (you will not be required to work nightshift)
* Be part of the on-call system, to be on stand-by & available to cover services when needed
Additional Information
* This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check

* Shifts will include evenings, weekends, and waking nights
