Trainee Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Installation Engineer Location: Glasgow & Lanarkshire (with travel across Scotland) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Friday (with occasional overtime) About the Role We are looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a young person aged 17–21 who is keen to start a long-term career in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Full training will be provided through the company, working alongside experienced engineers on a wide range of commercial and industrial projects. You will gain hands-on experience in installing, maintaining and servicing refrigeration and air conditioning systems while working towards industry-recognised qualifications. Key Responsibilities As a trainee, your duties will include (with training and supervision): Assisting senior engineers with installation of refrigeration and air conditioning systems Supporting with maintenance and servicing work on commercial and industrial equipment Helping with pipework installation, pressure testing, and system commissioning Carrying tools, materials, and equipment safely to and from site Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping Completing basic paperwork and job reports Learning F-Gas handling procedures, electrical safety practices, and industry regulations Representing the company professionally on customer sites Training & Development Full training provided through the company Opportunity to gain: Refrigeration & Air Conditioning qualifications F-Gas certification Health & Safety training Electrical safety awareness Long-term career progression into a qualified installation engineer Essential Requirements Age: 17–21 Driving licence essential (or actively learning with test booked) Strong interest in engineering, refrigeration, or air conditioning Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on, practical environment Good timekeeping and a strong work ethic Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Physically fit and comfortable working on building sites Desirable (But Not Essential) CSCS card (preferred but not mandatory – assistance available to obtain one) Basic mechanical, electrical, or construction experience College course or school subjects in engineering, construction, or technical studies
