Role Available: SEND Teacher (QTS) – Havering
Protocol Education is working with a specialist school in Havering that supports children and young people with a wide range of additional needs. We are seeking a qualified SEND Teacher (QTS) to join the team on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential for a permanent role.
This is a rewarding opportunity to take responsibility for delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching to pupils with MLD, SLD, ASD, and PMLD. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs, supporting students to access the curriculum, develop independence, and achieve meaningful progress in a safe and nurturing environment.
The school welcomes applications from teachers with SEND experience as well as mainstream teachers with a strong interest in special educational needs. A compassionate, flexible, and creative approach to teaching is essential, along with a strong understanding of how to adapt learning for pupils with complex needs. Experience working with personal care routines is advantageous but not essential.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Full-time, long-term position
The Ideal Candidate Will: • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) • Be confident planning and delivering differentiated lessons for SEND learners • Have strong behaviour management skills with a nurturing approach • Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including support staff and therapists • Demonstrate patience, creativity, and resilience in a specialist setting
Additional Information: Training such as Team Teach, Manual Handling, Hoist Training, or First Aid is beneficial but not essential, as ongoing CPD and training opportunities are available.
