Job Title: Engineer

As an Engineer you will be at the heart of our Technical Department, overseeing external Design and Engineering Consultants throughout the project management and administration of all technical and design matters for residential projects.

What you’ll do
 * Assist in the production of layouts and technical reports for land appraisals, including required working drawings
 * Brief and commission site investigations, topographical survey and other assessment reports on land acquired
 * Brief engineering consultants on scope of design, which includes roads, sewers, private drainage, retaining walls, foundation designs and any other substructures below DPC level
 * Initial negotiations and enquiries with statutory bodies and utility undertakers on environmental, drainage, highways and other engineering issues when appraising land
 * Issue engineering information to Commercial, Construction & Sales departments
 * Negotiate fees and appoint consultants
 * Answer technical queries
 * Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group’s Health, Safety and Environment Policy
What experience we’re looking for
 * Ideally qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a civil engineering or building‑related discipline with residential project experience
 * Knowledge of current building regulations, CDM, EA/Water Authority/Highway regulations and adoption agreements
 * Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external bodies
 * Enthusiastic and hardworking individual willing to undertake all necessary training
