Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Occupational Therapist Assistant to join the Integrated Mental Health Team in East Staffs, based in Burton.

You will join a developing and innovative service that aims to provide the right care and treatment at the right time, to individuals within the area. You will become part of an established multi-disciplinary team that has a strong emphasis on delivering evidence based psychological interventions to meet the needs of individuals with secondary mental health needs within our neighbourhood.

We are looking for someone who has experience, relevant knowledge and a passion to be working with mental health service users, contributing to delivery of a package of care to promote recovery. Applicants need to be able to demonstrate drive and motivation in providing recovery based Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions.

We reserve the right to close the vacancy early depending on the volume of applications we receive.

Main duties of the job

You will work within our Integrated Mental Health Team. You will be supervised by a qualified Occupational Therapist within the service. You will be expected to provide Occupational Therapy based interventions under the direction and supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist.

Your caseload will reflect your role as an Occupational Therapy Assistant working within secondary mental health care and consist of delegated work from a registered clinician. This work may include but is not restricted to carrying out various standardised and non-standardised assessments, implementing Occupational Therapy based interventions and feeding back to both the Occupational Therapy team and the wider multidisciplinary team.
