Nuneaton HQ
Full-time | 08:30–16:30, Monday–Friday
£24,500 - £27,500 (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP – because we're growing fast and need YOU
Who are we?
We're Airmech – a proud, family-run business with over 45 years of keeping the UK's manufacturing industry running. We install, maintain and rescue compressed air systems when no one else can. Tesco, Costco, DPD and hundreds of manufacturers across the UK trust us to keep their businesses online.
We've grown fast in the last two years - and we're not slowing down.
Our engineers are the face of the business. Our Managing Director is an ops-obsessed visionary. Our customers love us for being the kind of people who answer the phone when others don't. But… behind all that? We need someone to make it all happen behind the scenes.
That's where you come in.
What's the role?
This is not just another admin job.
You'll be the operational linchpin of our service department - working closely with our Service Manager to keep things moving. You'll be the person who:
* Turns messy engineer notes into beautiful job records.
* Sees the gaps, thinks ahead, and makes sure no balls are dropped.
* Makes customers feel looked after (without the cheese).
* Keeps engineers organised and on track (without the nagging).
* Follows up on quotes, raises POs, and keeps Joblogic updated without being asked.
You'll be doing a bit of everything - and that's how you like it.
You'll thrive in this role if:
* You love structure and lists, but don't fall apart when plans change.
* You're the one people turn to when they "just need it sorted."
* You're confident speaking to customers and suppliers - professionally, but warmly.
* You spot mistakes before they become problems.
* You're tech-savvy and a quick learner.
* You're a team player, but happy to own your own zone.
* You take pride in being reliable. You don't need micromanaging.
* You've probably worked in service coordination, operations or admin before - but it doesn't have to be in engineering.
What you'll be doing (roughly…)
No two days are the same, but your week might look like this:
* Monday 08:30 - Review incoming messages from customers over the weekend, dispatch engineers, check if POs are in.
* Midweek - Chase quotes, update visit notes, check stock levels, raise supplier orders.
* Wednesday Join the weekly job deployment meeting and help get engineers planned for next week.
* Any time - Catch a part the engineer forgot to order. Flag an error before it hits the customer. Ring a supplier to fast-track a delivery. Quietly prevent a meltdown.
* Friday Look back on the week with satisfaction. Maybe with a cuppa in hand.
What you'll get:
* A place in a small, close-knit team where your input actually matters
* Proper training on all our systems (we're process nerds — in the best way)
* Mentorship and support from a leadership team that genuinely wants you to grow
* Opportunity to shape your role as we scale — want to go deeper into operations, purchasing, systems, or sales support? We'll back you.
* 20 days holiday + bank holidays (and we shut over Christmas)
* Your birthday off (because you shouldn't be replying to emails with cake in your mouth)
* An extra 3 days' leave if you get married (just don't book the honeymoon during an install)
* Company pension + private health insurance (after probation)
* Company sick pay
* Refer-a-friend bonus scheme (because great people know great people)
* Flexibility when you need it — we're grown-ups and know that life happens (especially when you've got a family)
A note from Charlotte (our MD)
"We are a real, growing company where loyalty, integrity and taking ownership matter. We're looking for someone who genuinely wants to be part of the team - not just turn up and do the bare minimum. If you're the kind of person who quietly gets stuff done and cares about doing a good job, you'll fit in here just fine."
