Salary: Starting at £60,000, depending on experience.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Principal Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our nuclear site assets. Your responsibilities will include:
* Authoring and managing design substantiation documentation to support the site nuclear safety case.
* Reviewing analyses, assessments, and calculations related to nuclear design substantiation.
* Supporting periodic safety reviews.
* Taking ownership of deliverables while demonstrating high levels of autonomy and leadership.
* Implementing design substantiation requirements effectively.
* Collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Site Safety Case, Human Factors, and Engineering Authority Teams.
* Mentoring and supporting the development of other Nuclear Substantiation team members.
* Engaging with the wider business on nuclear design substantiation activities related to site assets.
Your Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Experience in the nuclear industry and familiarity with nuclear safety regulations.
* A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent working experience.
* Proven ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
* A determined approach to driving deliverables through to completion.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
* A broad understanding of multiple engineering disciplines.
* Chartered Engineer status from the Engineering Council and membership in a relevant professional body.
* Experience in nuclear design substantiation analysis and assessment.
