Training
Your training takes place at the state‑of‑the‑art Renault Trucks UK Training Academy in Whetstone, Leicester. You will learn from experienced commercial vehicle specialists and receive block‑release training at the Academy, regular assessments and workplace reviews to ensure you acquire the skills needed for successful completion.

* IMI Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair: Heavy Vehicle Apprenticeship
* Employer Rights & Responsibilities
* Functional Skills – minimum Level 4 in Maths and English
A Typical Day
* Materials, fabrication, tools, and measuring devices used in the commercial vehicle environment
* Inspection of heavy vehicles
* Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units, including pneumatic braking systems
* Diagnosing and rectifying engine, transmission, and electrical system faults
* Commissioning and decommissioning high‑voltage systems on battery electric vehicles
* Ensuring health and safety standards
* Contributing to workplace housekeeping
Requirements and Prospects
To complete the apprenticeship, you must pass Level 1 English and Maths (or have an exemption certificate) and work toward this level before the end‑point assessment.
