About the Role
Harrogate College is recruiting for a Course Leader for Electrical and Construction Apprenticeships.
You will be expected to teach and assess our apprenticeships, creating dynamic, industry-focused content that equips learners with the skills they need to thrive in the real world. You will lead the electrical installation and construction curriculum area, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and you will play a key role in advancing vocational education

What You Will Do
1. Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.
2. Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
3. Contribute to and participate in the assessment and quality assurance procedures for all programmes/training provision, including Internal Verification to the prescribed standards.
4. Ensure that learner reviews, teaching, learning and assessment plans are completed in line with funding rules.
5. Provide feedback on students’ work and assignments, including marking assignments where relevant, liaising with venues, employers or placement supervisors and providing guidance and support to students.
6. Assess and monitor portfolio of students work and ensure completion within agreed deadlines and target date (including electronic).
7. Complete assessment paperwork to the required audit standards.
8. Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organization developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
About You
9. Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
10. Relevant highest level vocational qualification or degree in teaching subject.
11. English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.
12. Relevant up to date subject knowledge and recent delivery in the Further Education or school sector.
13. Level 3 qualification in sector area.
