Sr. IT Project Manager for Biotech Client
12 month Contract
Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite in Stevenage

Role Summary
The Sr. Project Manager (PM) will lead end‑to‑end delivery of business technology initiatives that enable our Commercial organization, specifically within QC & PDO. This role is responsible for driving project planning, execution, deployment, and transition to operations while ensuring alignment across business, IT, and external partners.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading IT and business technology projects from initiation through implementation and operational handoff
* Coordinating cross‑functional teams—including business stakeholders, IT, vendors, and governance bodies—to maintain alignment and engagement
* Managing core project processes such as Steering Committees, change controls, RAID logs, communication plans, and budgets
* Facilitating project meetings, managing scope and timelines, and ensuring risks and issues are identified, tracked, and resolved
* Delivering high‑quality solutions on schedule and within budget
This role engages directly with senior business and IT stakeholders and requires a seasoned PM with excellent communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder‑management skills. Experience in regulated industries and familiarity with GxP practices is required. PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation of IT systems and capabilities, ensuring delivery meets business objectives, timelines, budget, and quality expectations
* Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation including project plans, RAID logs, communication plans, status reports, and budgets
* Drive integrated planning and milestone tracking across project workstreams and interdependent initiatives
* Coordinate and facilitate Steering Committee meetings and other governance forums
* Establish and execute clear, effective communication plans for project stakeholders
* Facilitate cross‑functional discussions and decision‑making on solution design, technology selections, and user experience needs
* Serve as the escalation point for project‑related risks, issues, and decisions
* Maintain a strong understanding of business needs and ensure project outcomes align with organizational priorities
* Coordinate activities across business teams, IT partners, and external vendors to ensure timely progress toward deliverables
* Proactively identify, mitigate, and manage project risks and issues
* Ensure all project deliverables meet required quality standards and compliance expectations
* Manage change requests and assess impacts to schedules, scope, and budget
* Support development of training materials, user documentation, and go‑live readiness activities
* Obtain business acceptance on key deliverables and support a smooth transition to operations
* Monitor stakeholder satisfaction through and after project implementation
* Conduct post‑project evaluations to capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities
* Own and manage the overall project budget
* Support continuous improvement of PMO processes and standards
Experience:
* Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and MUST have GxP systems experience, regulatory expectations, and compliance considerations within a regulated environment
* Proven ability to lead and motivate project teams, driving accountability and delivering results through full project lifecycle
* Demonstrated track record of delivering projects on time and on budget, using structured governance and decision‑making processes to navigate risks, issues, and organizational challenges
* Experience managing project budgets of $500K+, including forecasting, tracking, and financial reporting
* Minimum of 7 years managing external vendors, including contract oversight, performance management, and integration into project workstreams
Skills/Specialist knowledge:
* Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex information and propose actionable recommendations
* Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, break down complex problems, and create clarity for project teams and stakeholders
* Exceptional stakeholder‑management capabilities, including experience working with and influencing senior executives
* Ability to synthesize information from diverse sources and translate it into clear, concise business language for broad audiences
* Strong understanding and practical application of formal project management methodologies and best practices
* Knowledge of pharmaceutical operations, including commercial launch processes and cross‑functional dependencies
