Where will you be working? At M Group Highways, we're supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK. We don't just build roads and bridges — we're building a better future, creating lasting social value that benefits the communities where we work. You'll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK's leading highway maintenance contractor, utilizing the latest innovations to create effective solutions. Our services include planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes. Want to be part of it?
What will you be doing?
1. Deliver services in line with contract requirements, ensuring client and customer satisfaction.
2. Organize, plan, supervise, and execute all work according to specifications, drawings, dimensions, and within agreed commercial limits.
3. Focus on operational gross margins from pre-works planning to on-site supervision through effective management.
4. Manage day-to-day Health & Safety for staff and Supply Chain Partners, including toolbox talks.
5. Ensure work complies with local procedures and company policies, recording any work request changes.
6. Set, monitor, and report on performance objectives related to time, cost, safety, and quality.
7. Provide leadership, training, development, and encouragement to staff and operatives.
8. Manage vehicles and plant used in the depot.
9. Support development and mentoring of apprentices.
10. Participate in Emergency and Winter Maintenance activities.
Requirements
* Experience in construction delivery and workforce supervision.
* Commercial acumen to optimize costs and efficiencies.
* Experience in highway maintenance industry or hold CSCS, NRSWA, SSSTS/SMSTS certifications.
* Previous team management experience with strong leadership and motivational skills.
* IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Office.
* Ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
* Flexibility and adaptability to change.
