Lumachain is a high profile, well-funded AI scale-up, headquartered in Sydney Australia, with teams around the world. We work with many of the world’s leading protein and food processors, as well as with leading Quick Service Restaurant brands and retailers.
Our mission is to change how our food is produced, for good. We do this by implementing our Computer Vision-based AI platform inside food and protein production plants. This platform allows cameras to “see, learn and act” like humans do. Our platform helps improve safety (both for food and the employees who produce it), quality, yields and efficiency within production facilities. We also provide end-to-end traceability from farm to fork.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Technical Project Manager, who is experienced in leading hardware and software implementations in industrial environments; and then working with customers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specification, across the UK and Europe. Once implemented, they will ensure the solution is ‘baked-in’ to the customer’s day-to-day operations.
Reporting to the Global Head of Infrastructure & UK/Europe Delivery, this is a hands-on, customer facing role. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project implementations and coordinating post-implementation support. As well, they will play a key role in driving customer engagement with the projects and our solutions, including being able to clearly communicate business benefits, while also project managing implementation.
The role is primarily work from home, with regular visits to customer meat and food processing plants across the UK and Europe for 2-3 days at a time. Some weekend work may also be required for installations; however, this will be planned and no more than one weekend in any month.
Key Responsibilities
* Gathering scope and requirements from customers, based on Lumachain’s product set.
* Develop project plans for the implementation of our solutions.
* Working with the customer on collation of samples to further train our AI models as necessary.
* Convey the “voice of our customer” to our internal development and technical teams.
* Coordinate a range of stakeholders, including customers, software development teams and 3rd party vendors (including camera and network installers who physically install the equipment for us) and others, to deliver the right solution.
* Manage local relationships implementation partners/installers, who will physically install the equipment needed for our solutions.
* Work with contractors and the customers’ on-site IT and site management teams.
* Accountable for successful completion of the User Acceptance Testing process with the customer and Lumachain’s internal AI team.
* Helping drive the adoption of our system by the customer into their day-to-day workflows.
* Ensuring deliverables are managed and met, including variation, project reporting and priority setting.
Key Performance Indicators
* Your core responsibility is to ensure our AI platform is rolled out at customer facilities on time, to budget, and to a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Because each facility will have its own nuanced requirements, you will need to work closely with customer stakeholders to understand their needs, map these to our capabilities, agree a final scope, and then work with the customer team, our AI and software teams and 3rd party partners to ensure the solution is effectively delivered to a high level of accuracy and quality, and that it meets customer business needs.
About You
* You are a seasoned Technical Project Manager with a solid technology background, including in physical hardware and software deployments.
* Experience overseeing the implementation of IT infrastructure is a must.
* You are a confident and authentic communicator who can assist stakeholders with change and managing expectations. You are down to earth and can work effectively with plant floor staff through to plant management.
* Experience in the food supply chain sector not required but is helpful to have.
* You are comfortable working inside meat processing plants.
* You are a ‘go-getter’ with a natural ability to build relationships and an appetite to learn.
* You are exceptionally organised and have a commitment to delivery at the highest standards.
* You are open to regular travel around the UK and Europe.
* You possess a customer focus, with a collaborative and proactive approach being second nature.
* You are naturally curious about AI, technology and innovation; you are excited by product development and where those products might be able to be deployed.
* You ensure all details have been considered and actioned as part of scoping.
* Implementing projects is your default position.
* Highly intelligent, you enjoy thinking on your feet, with an ability to problem solve, having considered ‘down the line’ ramifications that enables you to identify appropriate resolutions.
* Meeting deadlines is important to you, any possibility of missing one is flagged early with ideas about how a possible delay may be resolved identified.
* Working in a collaborative manner, with honesty and integrity, is core to how you get your job done.
* You are a strong fit with Lumachain’s culture. We have built a talented, cohesive, and engaged team that seeks to live these every day. Our five core values define who we are and how we work – Do Good (Integrity), Give Our Best (Passion), Stand Together (Trust), Care For Each Other (Care) and Embrace Diversity (Diversity).
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
