Hales Group is a market leader in its field, with the Finance Team based in Peterborough. We need to add a dynamic and enthusiastic member to our accounting team with excellent commercial acumen and a willingness to assist with our ever-expanding workload. With a current turnover of £60m we have aspirational growth targets over the next two years and beyond and need a flexible and adaptable team member with strong analytical skills to provide insightful data to drive the necessary changes within the business under the direction of the Group Chief Accountant. Job Description * Lead a team of three, providing support and guidance. * Provide accurate and timely information with insightful and proactive analysis that helps drive the business forward. * Produce weekly reporting to the operating divisions. * Assist with the preparation of group annual budgets and forecasts. * Assist in the preparation of routine reports for the Board and Senior Management Team. * Assist with posting to Sage 200 at month end to aid the timely production of the Management Accounts. * Assist with and enhance balance sheet reconciliations. * Work with Group Chief Accountant to drive process improvements in line with applicable regulatory frameworks. * Any other ad hoc projects. The Successful Applicant You will be keen to get involved with the business and to gain commercial understanding of our sectors, studying to support your growth with Hales Group Ltd. Working closely with the accounting team and reporting to our Group Chief Accountant, you will be an effective organiser with the ability to contribute to delivering under tight deadlines. You will have a positive “hands on” approach, willing to cover for colleagues’ tasks during annual leave and at times of exceptional workload such as year end and audit. Your Team Your team will comprise of three direct reports who you will assist, support and guide through the pulling together of reports, administration of Creditors (a small ledger) and all outgoing payments and banking (including an ID facility), rolling up your sleeves and being “hands on” where necessary.
