JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Production Manager / Finishing Supervisor your objective is to ‘Set’ and maintain all folding equipment as required and ensure machines meet the production plan whilst keeping you and your colleagues safe.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Report on any HSE requirements and make decisions based on risk
2. Expected to ‘set’ and ‘run’ a machine as required, with the purpose of maximising shift output
3. Ability to set and run all folding machines and all formats of leaflets
4. Work to the agreed Quality levels and achieve the department quality targets
5. When required, offer practical advice (troubleshoot) on machine and other finishing related matters
6. Conduct return to work interviews and help the management of absence
7. Make sure that SFDC and VWT are used in compliance with our SOP’s
8. Raise IT support tickets when we have Software or hardware issues
9. Enter maintenance tasks immediately on Cworks as they arise.
10. To load flat leaflet sheets, tagserts and other leaflet components.
11. To resolve minor running issues, including unblocking the machine, and restarting the process when it’s safe to do so.
QUALIFICATONS:
Educational and Professional:
12. Minimum GCSE in Mathematics and English Language or equivalent
13. Previous experience working on and setting Machinery
14. PC literate
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
15. Previous manufacturing experience (advantageous)
16. Ability to work flexibly as part of a team
17. Communication skills
18. Previous experience of working with machines (ideally in a printing, pharmaceuticals, or food environment). However, training will be provided to the right candidates
19. Awareness of current Health & Safety practices
20. Problem solving skills
