NRL are working with an engineering consultancy who specialise within the power generation sector.Location: Remote working possible with regular visits to the Head Office (min 1 day per week) – Stockton-on-TeesWe are looking for an experienced controls engineer to lead the development of their data visualisation platform, improve CHiPCoB on-site controls product and to help bring online power generation asset management products to the market.The role will also involve providing controls and electrical support to the existing operational assets and mentoring the younger engineers within our small team.Job Scope:Key areas of responsibilityConfiguring and development cloud based SCADA capabilityDevelop and update PLC software for remote deploymentAdvise and lead on the improvement of IT infrastructure across the business and customer power generation sitesSupport the business on general electrical, control and communications issues Day-to-day duties of the positionEnsure all currently deployed control systems are working correctly and resolving any problems that ariseCoordinate the development work carried out by junior controls engineers within the teamVisit sites to resolve problems when requiredSkills and Competencies Required for the RoleSelf-motivated and Independent workerPLC programming with knowledge of communications protocolsSCADA configuration and set upExcellent IT and networking knowledgeDealing with a number of different projects simultaneouslyGood HSE attitude Experience on the following is desired:MQTTAWSSiemens S7 PLC’s and programming environmentsAbility to analyse and modify softwareQualifications RequiredRelevant Engineering qualification – Degree levelSalary and Benefits£45-55k salary dependant on experience25 days a year holidayGroup Life assuranceGroup Income protection Additional info:This job would require mobility to get to various project sites so a full UK driving license is required and preferably a carWe are a flexible working organisation, which would allow mutual pragmatic approach to working patterns, but may also include occasional out of normal hours working.Remote working is possible but there is an expectation that the candidate will visit our main office in Teesside at least once per week.
