Early Years Group Leader - May - Long Road, Cambridge
Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: £421.52 - £628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
(Contracts for February Half Term will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.)
Reportable to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

EARLY YEARS GROUP LEADER DUTIES
* Ensure the Early Years Foundation Stage is implemented.
* Assist with setting up and maintaining an inviting base room, keeping it tidy and equipment packed away.
* Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for children.
* Adhere to the activity timetable to deliver diverse activity sessions as promised.
* Collaborate with staff to deliver sessions effectively.
* Act as the children's Key Worker, managing information exchange regarding their experiences.
* Ensure children’s needs are met through active supervision during all times of the day.
* Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities with enthusiasm and structure.
* Encourage maximum participation while following OFSTED guidance.
* Get to know children as individuals, incorporating their interests into their daily activities.
* Take responsibility for general welfare and safeguarding.
* Ensure safe use of equipment during sessions.
* Facilitate children’s development through Explore and Play sessions.
REQUIREMENTS
* Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
* Knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Aged 18 or over by the contract start date.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Provision of satisfactory references.
* Enthusiastic, caring, organized with excellent communication skills and initiative.
* Ability to adapt to unpredictable challenges.
* Enhanced DBS check or existing on the Update Service.
* Attend Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
* Complete annual online training.
* Attend Induction Training before camp opens.
* Assist with pack-up at the end of camp.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Follow safety instructions diligently, showing proactive safety management.
* Organize activities appropriate to your qualifications and skills.
* Encourage children to participate in new activities as per the timetable.
* Maintain children’s behavior in a safe manner, respecting their individuality.
* Follow camp systems, including registration, collection, and health and safety procedures.
* Promote a healthy lifestyle and good hygiene as a positive role model.
* Report Child Protection concerns to senior staff or designated persons.
* Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs.
* Support delivery of Skills Builder sessions if staff availability allows.
* Support swimming sessions, bringing swimwear; spare T-shirts are available.
* Perform other duties as required within the organization.
