JOB TITLE: Incoming Quality Inspection LOCATION: On-Site, Blackburn based HOURS OF WORK: 08.00 - 16.00 Monday - Friday SALARY: £30,000.00 - £34,000.00 bonus scheme SUMMARY Part of the IDEX Corporation, Precision Polymer Engineering Ltd is a manufacturer and supplier of high performance, niche elastomer seals used in critical applications around the globe. We are fast growing and successful with over £1 billion annual sales. 1 PRIMARY FUNCTION: 1.1 Keen attention to accuracy of work and adherence to the process steps to follow 1.2 Work closely with colleagues to ensure good teamwork and best practice 1.3 Think safety of yourself and others at all times 2 REPORTS TO: Incoming Quality Assurance 3 TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 3.1 Inspection of Incoming deliveries which includes raw compound, silicone and bought in parts. 3.2 ERP (JD Edwards) administration to include checking, scanning inspection reports and certificates to the relevant order and stock movements 3.3 Rheometer testing 3.4 Testing and recording of the results in accordance to EN 10204 3.1 certification requirement and inputting them into JDE. 3.5 Manual certificate creation in accordance with EN 10204 3.1 and 2.2 3.6 Raising of internal concessions which are submitted to the Materials Team for approval/rejection. 3.7 Customer specific reporting requirements 3.8 Creating ISIRs from the suppliers measurement reports for our customer orders. 4 ORGANISATION REQUIREMENTS: 4.1 Needs to develop effective relationships: 4.1.1 Peers on the same shift in manufacturing 4.1.2 Other departments who can have an influence on business KPIs 5 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 5.1 Relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting 5.2 Good verbal and written communication skills 5.3 Able to work as part of a team 5.4 Well organized 5.5 Good time manager 5.6 Ability to work with minimum of supervision 5.7 Strong prioritization skills 5.8 Ability to manage own workload 5.9 Accurate, numerate with good attention to detail 5.10 Excellent ability to quickly learn new software programs and systems 5.11 Customer (internal) focused 5.12 Able to work well under pressure 5.13 Ability to work flexibly 5.14 Self motivated 5.15 Prepared to learn new skills 5.16 Eyesight in line with DVLA 5.17 Good analytical mind 5.18 Ability to process and interpret complex information 5.19 Good grasp of technical items and technical processes 5.20 Ability to understand technical documentation 6 COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Job Knowledge Excellent knowledge of job function Keen to expand knowledge base and seeks out new and updated information Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, skills, equipment, procedures and materials Applies knowledge to identify issues and internal problems; works to develop additional technical knowledge and skills Communication (Verbal & Written) Open and honest in communication Good understanding of written and verbal English Communicates concisely, logically and in a timely fashion Ensures that others have the information they need to do their jobs; readily shares information Holds others’ attention Housekeeping Ensure that own work area is kept clean and tidy at all times and that no walkways are blocked At end of shift, always follow agreed cleaning procedure Have pride in area of work, encouraging colleagues to do the same Action/Results Orientated Identifies opportunities and initiates actions to achieve objectives Creates a sense of urgency within the organization; encourages others to be accountable for and achieve results Not fearful of acting with limited planning or supervision; willing to take the initiative to accomplish desired results Enthusiastic and committed; demonstrates capacity for sustained effort and hard work over long time periods Attendance Demonstrate high levels of attendance at all times Ability to be flexible if required based on business needs Problem Solving Adapts well to changing priorities, deadlines and directions Works to eliminate all processes which do not add value Is willing to take action, even under pressure, criticism or tight deadlines Recognizes and accurately evaluates the signs of a problem Analyses current procedures for possible improvements Notifies Cell Leader of problems in a timely manner Quality Performs tasks with care; is thorough.
