We are seeking a Specialist Services Operative to support ISS in becoming the world’s greatest service organisation by delivering consistent, world‑class building maintenance services. This role plays a key part in facilitating our customers’ purpose through people empowerment and service excellence.
We are looking for an experienced operative who will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running, monitoring and adjustment of key plant assets, while supporting the wider site team through effective task delivery, safe chemical handling, and strong adherence to health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor, operate and adjust key plant assets including air compressors, boilers, vacuum pumps, water systems and air conditioning systems
* Ensure all critical alarms and defects are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
* Complete all assigned CAFM tasks within site Key Performance Indicators
* Carry out general maintenance activities, including cleaning areas and moving furniture or equipment where required
* Collect and transport waste chemicals in line with CAFM planned and reactive work orders
* Monitor chemical and waste storage facilities, ensuring safe segregation, storage and clear identification
* Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, including estimating time and materials and ordering supplies
* Comply with all company policies, technical standards, safe systems of work and health & safety regulations
Experience, Skills and Qualifications
* Secondary education or equivalent trade qualification or work experience
* 3–5 years’ relevant work experience
* Strong understanding of facilities or building maintenance environments
* Strong health & safety awareness (IOSH certificate desirable)
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment advantageous
* Chemical handling experience
* Ability to use standard powered and non‑powered tools
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure
* Initiative‑taker with a collaborative and resilient approach

* Demonstrable contribution to account, segment or country technical KPIs
* Active participation in hazard reduction initiatives and near‑miss reporting
* Consistent adherence to ISS technical policies, procedures and safe systems of work
* Support delivery of service excellence across all service lines
