We are looking for a Technical Lead with strong expertise in GE Smallworld technologies to join a high-performance team supporting enterprise GIS solutions. This is a senior technical role that combines hands-on development, architectural guidance, team mentoring, and direct customer engagement in a fast-paced, confidential environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership across all phases of Smallworld GIS solution delivery, from design through implementation and support.
* Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex system issues, driving resolution and long-term improvements.
* Lead technical discussions with enterprise clients, translating business needs into scalable GIS solutions.
* Guide development and support teams, ensuring best practices in Magik, Java, and database engineering.
* Oversee patch deployment, software upgrades, and environment configurations in live production systems.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, support, and product teams to maintain system reliability and customer satisfaction.
* Maintain high standards of technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* 7+ years of experience with GE Smallworld technologies: PNI, Core (SW4/SW5), EO, GDO, GTO, GSS, GSA, DM, MES, NRM, K8.
* Deep knowledge of Magik programming and GE Smallworld VMDS architecture.
* Solid command of Java, Oracle, SQL, and shell scripting in Unix/Linux environments.
* Proven experience leading teams in complex software deployments and support scenarios.
* Ability to interpret logs/debug files and diagnose system-wide performance issues.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical topics to mixed audiences.
* Demonstrated experience working in a regulated environment with change control and compliance protocols.
