MASH Social Worker
Location: Carlisle
Pay Rate: £50 per hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Social Worker to join our team. As a MASH Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children and adults by coordinating and facilitating multi-agency information sharing, decision-making, and early intervention.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Assessment and Referral: Conduct comprehensive assessments of referrals received from various agencies, including police, health services, schools, and social care, to identify potential risks and safeguarding concerns.
2. Information Sharing: Collaborate effectively with professionals from different agencies to gather and share relevant information, ensuring a holistic understanding of cases and timely interventions.
3. Risk Management: Analyse complex and sensitive information to assess the level of risk to individuals, families, and communities, and develop and implement appropriate safeguarding plans.
4. Case Coordination: Lead on the coordination of multi-agency meetings and discussions, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are engaged and informed throughout the decision-making process.
5. Support and Intervention: Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and partner agencies on safeguarding issues, offering guidance on best practices and legislative frameworks.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and decisions, adhering to data protection and confidentiality guidelines.
7. Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of developments in safeguarding legislation, policy, and practice through ongoing training and reflective practice, applying new knowledge and skills to enhance service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
8. Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification recognised by Social Work England.
9. Registered Social Worker with Social Work England.
10. DBS preferably on update service
11. Proven experience in child protection or adult safeguarding, preferably within a MASH or similar multi-agency setting.
12. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults.
13. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
14. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex cases with sensitivity and professionalism.
15. Commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to professional codes of conduct and ethics.
