An exciting set of bespoke opportunities has been developed in line with our unique and innovative Clinical Futures Model. Clinical Futures is aligned with the opening of our brand-new Grange University Hospital in November 2021 and the development of Centres of Excellence in surrounding local hospitals. These developments mean you would be joining ABUHB during a truly transformative era.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is an ambitious, multi-award-winning NHS organisation committed to providing excellent care. It offers an exceptional workplace where staff are valued and trusted. Serving a population of 650,000 with over 16,000 staff, ABUHB provides integrated acute, primary, and community care.
We offer extensive training and development opportunities, including paid mandatory training, in-house programmes, recognised qualifications, and career pathways. We promote flexible working, support work-life balance, and are developing a Wellbeing Centre of Excellence to support staff wellbeing.
This role involves working within a dynamic environment with responsibilities including regulated activity with adults, as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act, with checks such as enhanced barred list checks undertaken following a conditional offer. Applicants must hold or be eligible for full GMC registration and a license to practice.
Training access covers various medical specialties and accredited courses, under supervision of RCP trainers. The Board supports career progression towards MRCP(UK) and CESR, with a strong track record of high MRCP pass rates and dedicated training funds. Audit and QI projects are also part of the role, with support from a research lead based at Cardiff University. All posts include a resident on-call component, with additional banding payments for participation.
Join us on our journey to deliver world-class healthcare and pioneer new ways of working, ensuring high-quality care close to home and in hospital when needed.
