Description
To efficiently receive, pack/unpack, book in, check for accuracy, move raw/finished product within the Stores, ensuring that documentation, labelling, palletisation and presentation are completed accurately and in a timely manner within the ERP computer system (Epicor).
To be responsible for movement/storage of product, unload/load lorries and check for accuracy of items delivered.
To issue consumable goods to site individuals/locations in accordance with business and EPR procedures.
To check all stock on a cyclical basis and ensure that stock records are maintained accurately. Carry out stocktaking procedures as required by the business and complete adjustments where applicable within agreed financial measures.
To ensure stock is maintained (shelf life) and ready to use.
Storeman to ensure that the Stores and equipment are maintained to a high standard (racking labelled, located correctly and stores area kept in a clean/tidy condition.
Create purchase orders in the ERP system for all consumable items via Statistical Inventory Control (SIC)
Arrange for couriers to return/send items from site.
Responsibilities will include any other support role determined by the Business Conformance Director.
Security responsibilities
To carry out regular security duties, as per the agreed schedule, this will include locking/unlocking main gate, premises checks, etc.
Key accountabilities
* Loading/unloading/storage/movement of stock meeting quality standards
* Accurate forklift driving to ensure minimal damage
* Booking in deliveries accurately onto the computerised system, and ensuring items received are correct to Purchase Order to facility aaccurate and timely purchase and accounts data, whilst providing an audit trail.
* Quality checks
* Perform all tasks to a high standard to meet standard operating procedures and Codes of Conduct.
* Ability to communicate data to the SLT, all production and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth running of the stores and to all visitors to the company
* Support company wide initiatives to improve service levels to our customers
* Ensuring the premises are secure, as per agreed schedule
Experience/skills
Full training will be given, but experience/skills below advantageous:
* Forklift licence; powered pallet truck licence
* ERP/MRP systems (in particular Epicor)
* Previous experience in a stores function
* Ability to manage all aspects of the role in a pressurised environment
* Good organisation and planning skills
* Problem solving
* Ability to integrate with, and become part of, a capable and motivated team
* Ability to adopt and implement procedures
* Working unsupervised and meeting deadlines
* Computer literacy with experience of stock control procedures
* Experience of working in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment
Knowledge
Health and safety; ensuring vehicle movements (including forklift trucks) and pedestrian segregation are maintained, all items stored safely in racks/shelving. Racking inspections carried out and manual handling techniques used and understood.
