An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us a Community Finance Manager, covering the Westmorland and Furness area.
The Community Finance Team plays an important role in supporting the operational delivery of Adult Social Care. The team assesses individuals’ ability to contribute towards the cost of their care in line with legislation and policy, helps to safeguard individuals financially, and manages invoicing for client charges on residential and non-residential services.
In this role, you will lead and improve the delivery of a professional service within a changing legislative and policy environment. You’ll ensure that systems, policies, and procedures are effective, up to date, and compliant with the Care Act 2014 and related regulations.
You’ll oversee fair and accurate financial assessments, maximise income collection, and provide strong management to ensure safe and consistent practice across all areas.
Experience of managing in a customer-focused environment is essential, along with the ability to deal sensitively with clients and maintain strict Information Governance standards. You’ll work closely with teams across Adult Social Care, Commissioning, and Finance, as well as with external parties.
Who we are looking for…
We are looking for a motivated and experienced manager with a background in technical and customer-focused work. You should have experience leading and supporting staff to deliver high-quality services in a fast-paced environment, with knowledge of Adult Social Care preferred.
Strong management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential, along with a good understanding of Council policies, procedures, and service improvement. You should also have project management experience and a proven ability to deliver business change and process improvements.
Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve shared goals are key to success in this role.
