About the role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? We are delighted to announce a fantastic new role within our dynamic CJLDT, where you will be part of a highly skilled team supporting individuals in the criminal justice system. As a Band 4 STaR Worker, you will play a pivotal part in guiding service users through challenging circumstances, enabling new beginnings and brighter futures.

As an enrolled member of a outreach-based team, you will deliver short‑term interventions to those referred by senior staff members, helping individuals access vital first appointments for assessments with services such as drug and alcohol teams, community mental health services, autism support, and housing. You will also champion the implementation of Mental Health Treatment Requirements, contributing to fairer outcomes under Community Orders.

Occasionally, you may assist senior colleagues with triage and assessment in court and custody settings, gaining invaluable experience and insight into specialist areas of practice. Your work will be varied and rewarding, offering unique career development opportunities.

The role involves developing targeted short‑term action plans to address service user needs and manage risk, negotiating outcomes across various organisations, conducting carer assessments, and assisting with allied professional training. You will participate actively in multi‑disciplinary decision‑making, contribute to team development, review service methods and clinical practice, and ensure prompt documentation of service user contacts and incidents in line with safeguarding policies.
