Electrical role located at HMP Northumberland. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a salary of £38,000, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
* Install, test, examine and maintain electrical systems and equipment within the prison.
* Keep accurate maintenance records and complete any required administration in a timely manner.
* Use initiative to make decisions based on manufacturers’ documents, such as schematics and operational instructions.
* Ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations; contribute to the safety and operational efficiency of the facility.
* Engage with a variety of buildings and environments within HMP Northumberland, including residential blocks, kitchens, classrooms, workshops, offices, and security equipment.
* Complete a detailed job description as needed and participate in ongoing challenges unique to the site.
The Ideal Candidate
* Successful completion of a recognised electrician qualification.
* Successful completion of an electrician apprenticeship or equivalent experience as an electrician.
* Understanding of I.E.E. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Ability to collaborate within a team or work independently as required.
* Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
* Problem-solving capabilities to address challenges effectively.
* Ability to handle pressure while maintaining a positive outlook.
