Are you a recent Psychology graduate (2023 or later) eager to gain hands-on experience working with children? This is a fantastic opportunity to begin your journey in education, supporting students with Autism and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a dynamic and inclusive school environment.

You’ll work directly with children, providing one-to-one and small-group support to help them engage in learning and personal growth within a structured, nurturing setting. This role offers valuable experience for anyone considering careers in educational psychology, teaching, social work, or other child-focused professions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide tailored support to students with Autism, learning difficulties, and other SEND.
2. Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
3. Encourage students’ emotional, social, and academic development through positive, engaging activities.
4. Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to promote inclusion and wellbeing.
5. Support students with personal care needs (training provided if required).
6. Observe and record student progress, sharing updates with staff and parents.
7. Help create a supportive, respectful classroom environment.

Requirements

8. A degree in Psychology or a related subject (graduates from 2023 onwards encouraged to apply).
9. Any previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
10. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional learning needs.
11. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
12. Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude.
13. A current enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Work Options

We offer flexible opportunities to suit different schedules and commitments:

14. Full-time roles for those ready to commit to a consistent position.
15. Part-time options for graduates balancing other responsibilities.
16. Day-to-day supply work for those who prefer flexibility and are available for short-notice, last-minute cover in schools.

Why Apply?

17. Gain hands-on experience supporting children with SEND and Autism.
18. Build a strong foundation for a future career in education or psychology.

20. Access ongoing training and professional development.
