Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Location: Greater London
Salary: Approximately £40,000 per annum
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and committed Deputy Manager to join a children’s residential service providing care and support to young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). The successful candidate will assist in the overall management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and professional practice.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the effective day-to-day operation of the home.
* Lead, supervise, and develop staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality care.
* Promote and maintain a safe, nurturing environment that meets the individual needs of young people.
* Uphold regulatory standards in line with Ofsted requirements and internal policies.
* Oversee care planning, risk management, and safeguarding procedures.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the service.
Essential Requirements
* Demonstrable experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Practitioner within a children’s residential setting.
* Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
* Commitment to achieving the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
* Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding practices and relevant legislative frameworks.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Genuine commitment to promoting the welfare and development of young people.
