Base pay range

$18.00/yr - $18.85/yr

Duties


* Works with the manager to implement higher level directives; makes recommendations for improved food and beverage service; develops promotional programs to increase participation.
* Assists with the development of the annual budget and financial planning to include sales, programs, tournaments and capital requirements.
* Tracks labor, food/beverage and inventory costs in the snack bar and labor and inventory in the pro shop, making adjustments necessary to meet budget goals.
* Reviews and evaluates sources used for purchase of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise; establishes new or varied sources for improved selection to better meet changing customer demands.
* Assists in the development of minor and major construction projects.
* Once finalized, is responsible for ensuring projects remain on schedule and adhere to plans and blue prints.
* Resolves deviations and problems through proper sources.
* Responsible for work force management, recruitment, and staff training.
* Organizes and schedules open and league bowling. Conducts bowling instruction courses.
* Ensures maintenance and preventive maintenance are performed on all bowling related equipment.
* Responsible for conducting inventory of equipment/supplies and ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
* Oversees operation of pro shop and snack bar.
* Designs and develops publicity/marketing materials to promote use of facility.
* Receives and resolves customer complaints and requests.

The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement is citizens, permanent residents, and legal residents of the United States (US) who reside within the local commuting area (60 mile radius) of RAF Croughton, United Kingdom (UK), or will do so within the next 30 days.

Permanent and legal residents of the US must be citizens of a NATO country, unless authorized to reside in the UK as a dependent of an employee who serves in support of the US Visiting Forces. Eligible applicants must possess a US-issued social security number and be able to provide documentation proving residency status in the UK. Documentation could include PCS Orders, UK Visa, etc.

Applicants cannot be 'ordinarily resident'. A person is considered to be 'ordinarily resident' if they have resided in the United Kingdom (UK) for more than 366 days without an affiliation to the US Visiting Forces. Time spent in the UK as an employee, or dependent of an employee, of a US agency serving and supporting the US Visiting Forces (i.e., active duty military, federal civilian, AAFES, Red Cross, one of the contract universities, a military banking facility or federal credit union, or US government contractors) is not counted toward being 'ordinary resident'.

In accordance with the Status of Forces Agreement between the US and the UK, British citizens (including UK dual citizens) may not apply for US NAF positions; however, they may be eligible to apply for local national positions on base.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience (MUST BE SUPPORTED IN RESUME)

* Progressively responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of management principles and practices.
* Experience may have been gained in an operations, administrative or managerial position, which included responsibility for various phases of operations, such as snack bar management, facility/equipment management.
* Specialized experience in a bowling facility which provides basic knowledge of bowling programs, procedures, and rules, and which provided an in-depth knowledge of the operations of at least one of the functions of a bowling facility.
* This experience must include responsibility or supervision over at least one of the various phases of a bowling center operation.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify.

Additional information

* Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
* All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit.
* Probationary period may be required.
* Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
* Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement for up to 90 days after the closing date. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
* Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

* This is a Nonappropriated Fund (NAF) position carrying out Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) activities for the Air Force and Space Force.
