Designer Duration: 6-month contract. Hybrid working: Home/Office based. Role Outline As Designer, you will play a key role in strengthening and evolving ADS Group’s publishing portfolio, working across both ADS Advance and Aerospace Global News (AGN) during a period of significant investment and change. Your primary focus will be supporting the relaunch of ADS Advance, ADS Group’s flagship member publication, both print and digital formats. Working closely with the Head of Design and Group Editor, you will help translate creative vision into visually compelling, high‑quality output that is influential, authoritative and aligned with ADS and Farnborough International brands. You will be responsible for delivering innovative layouts, on‑brand visual assets and production‑ready artwork, ensuring the highest standards are maintained from concept through to final delivery. This will include preparing files for print and digital use, retouching imagery, and working to agreed schedules in a fast‑paced publishing environment. Alongside ADS Advance, you will also contribute to Aerospace Global News, supporting the continued evolution of the brand through the creation of digital assets such as infographics, iconography, illustrations and sourced imagery. This work will support AGN’s role as a trusted international news platform for the aerospace sector. The Candidate We are seeking a highly capable designer with strong experience across print and digital publishing, who is confident operating in a creative, deadline‑driven environment. You will be resilient, adaptable and comfortable working through periods of change, with the attention to detail and organisational skills required to consistently deliver high‑quality output. You will bring: A degree‑level qualification or equivalent experience A minimum of five years’ experience in print and digital design A strong portfolio demonstrating magazine and digital design expertise Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Experience preparing production‑ready artwork for both print and digital channels Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present and explain creative ideas A well‑rounded creative and strategic mindset, with a willingness to try new ideas The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure Experience in motion graphics is desirable but not essential.
