Key responsibilities:
• Support the Demand Management Process through initial gathering of ideas through to scoping and creation of business cases
• Overseeing the entire requirements process, including scoping, elicitation, documentation, and sign-off
• Input into Supplier Selection process as needed
• Ensuring best practices and standards are followed throughout the project
• Acting as an intermediary between various stakeholders, such as Project Sponsors, Directors, Business Leads and End-Users
• Facilitating communication to ensure business goals align with technical capabilities
• Assessing operational effectiveness and developing strategies to improve efficiency
• Using market trends and financial analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
• Collaborating with Development and Quality Assurance/User Acceptance Testing (QA/UAT) teams to ensure requirements are met
• Managing traceability matrix to understand scope of delivery vs original requirement and managing expectations with PM where misalignment identified
• Ensuring deliverables are reviewed and approved appropriately
• Supports impact assessment of newly mobilised projects to ensure that their scope / shape is well enough understood to start Business Analysis work
Key Skills/Knowledge:
• 6+ years experience as a Business Analyst
• Understanding of key business processes and alignment to these from a technology perspective.
• Experienced in communicating to non-technical audiences.
• Possesses strong oral and written communications skills
• Thoughtful, methodical, pragmatic, disciplined and analytical yet agile and efficient.
• Insight and understanding of architecture and integration techniques for the assembly and federation of both internal and external IT Solutions
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and methods (e.g. ADO, Visio, Process Mapping, Workshop facilitation)
• Proactively identifies analysis that needs to be done, and share plans / timelines with stakeholders
• Experience with Finance Projects, Finance processes, Core accounting, Journal Mgmt, High Volume Transaction Matching, Balance sheet reconciliation
• Experience with Blackline / Trintec solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to take ownership of challenges and drive to conclusion
• Good commercial acumen and business finance and accounting knowledge
• Analytical thinker with the ability to present meaningful data to a wide range of business and IS audiences
• Awareness of energy industry and technology trends
Experience required:
• 6+ years of relevant Business Analyst experience
• Experience working as an Individual contributor
• Experience of Agile Processes
• Energy Industry exposure will be an advantage.
