The successful candidate will work within the GE Aerospace Wales Engineering team in a Support Engineer capacity. The role is office based but requires a large percentage of time on the shop floor with maintenance technicians. The scope ranges from day-to-day technical support to maintenance technicians to long-term Engineering projects, as part of a team or individually. The role provides exposure to hardware from GE90 and CFM56 product lines. The candidate will need to work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver results. This position requires high level cross-functional collaboration with operations, planning, quality, sourcing and EH&S. This role requires shift working.
Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day technical support to shop floor maintenance technicians
* Compile technical documentation to support Engine and component maintenance
* Compile local policies to meet regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures within the Engineering team
* Vet Engine manuals and other OEM and customer published data
* Engage in Engineering project work to reduce maintenance costs and improve engine/component TAT using lean principles
* Implement digitisation of engineering processes
Required Qualifications
* MEng, BEng, MSc or BSc in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline
* Relevant experience in an appropriate engineering role; internship/trainee time is applicable

Position will be required to cover shift working including days, afternoons and 1 in 3 weekends.
