Gastroenterology Trust Registrar
London North West Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an enthusiastic Gastroenterology Registrar to join a team of Gastroenterologists at Ealing Hospital. The endoscopy unit performs approximately 5,000 GI endoscopies per year and sees about 2,000 new patients annually in gastroenterology clinics. The unit is JAG accredited as part of the Trust's Endoscopy strategy.
Main duties
* Provide inpatient gastroenterology and hepatology care under consultant supervision
* Conduct ward rounds and manage two outpatient clinics
* Lead one training endoscopy list per week
* Support acute gastroenterology service and participate in educational supervision
* Engage in research and quality improvement initiatives
Person Specification
* MBBS or equivalent, MRCP Part 2, Full GMC registration with licence to practice
* Clinical skills, experience and interest in gastroenterology; adequate general medicine on‑call experience at SpR level
* Experience of teaching and training junior medical staff
* Ability to organise and manage staff and resources effectively
* Experience of service development, quality improvement, evidence‑based audit and clinical audit decision‑making
* Understanding of research rationale and support of junior doctors in audit & research
* Clear written and spoken English, rapport‑building, communication, empathy, teamwork and decision‑making
* Evidence of service audit, design or change management, and management qualification or current study towards one
* Publications in peer‑reviewed journals
