Overview of Role:
This role supports the planning and coordination of work needed to deliver a major infrastructure programme across a key project in the North West. This role can be based in either Manchester, Leeds or York.
You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Primavera P6 database to support planning and scheduling activities across projects. The P6 Database Administrator ensures the system is set up correctly, runs efficiently, and provides reliable data for project teams.
Working with Project Controls and IT teams, the role helps ensure that schedules are accurate, consistent, and aligned across the programme. The P6 Database Administrator plays a key part in supporting the smooth running of planning systems and enabling informed decision-making.
Requirements:
* Knowledge of operation and maintenance of LoadSpring and Primavera P6 databases.
* Demonstrate development of work instruction / processes for running and maintaining a P6 Database
* Experience in training and developing personnel in running and maintaining a Primavera P6 database.
* Strong communications skills, able to explain planning and scheduling outputs to non-planning personnel.
* Relevant experience in the successful scheduling of engineering projects.
* Experience of using various project management scheduling tools and techniques.
Desirable:
* Membership of a relevant professional body (for Example APM).
* Understanding of the engineering requirements of work on the railway.
* Knowledge of railway investment planning systems.
* Strong use of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Use of Microsoft Visio application.
* Strong presentation skills.
* Report Writing Skills.
