Job Title: Behaviour Support Classroom Assistant Primary School

DBS: Enhanced DBS required (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
We are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Classroom Assistant to work in primary schools across Liverpool, supporting pupils who require additional help managing their behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
This is a key role for someone who is calm, resilient, and committed to helping pupils succeed in a structured and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups who display challenging behaviour or have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
Assist teachers with behaviour management strategies and personalised support plans
Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent routines and expectations
Help pupils engage in learning and build confidence in and out of the classroom
Work closely with the SENCO and pastoral teams to monitor progress and adapt support
Requirements:
Experience working with children with behavioural needs or SEMH, ideally in a school setting
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Two recent professional references
Strong communication skills and a calm, firm, and empathetic approach
Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and build positive relationships
