The Role
Our Audit and Assurance department is the largest service offering at Azets, with many clients of varying sizes across a broad range of industries. We tailor our audit procedures to meet each client's specific needs, making each engagement unique.
The service we provide has a meaningful impact on our clients, communities, the wider business, and the audit community. Our team of specialists undergoes continuous training to stay up-to-date with legislation. Clients are advised by local contacts who understand their specific business needs, supported by a large, experienced national team.
As an Audit Associate, you will play a key role in the success of our Audit and Assurance department. You will build your auditing skills by assisting with statutory audits, applying your expanding technical knowledge to real-life scenarios, problem-solving, analyzing data, and presenting findings.
Responsibilities
* Attending internal audit planning meetings
* Understanding client businesses and internal processes for audit planning
* Performing audit testing to provide assurance over financial statements
* Gathering audit evidence from clients
* Using audit technologies to analyze financial data for risks and errors
* Verifying physical assets during stock counts
* Reviewing financial statements prepared by clients or Azets
* Communicating effectively with clients both in person and virtually
* Sending queries to clients and reconciling data
* Scheduling regular meetings to meet audit deadlines
* Communicating with seniors regarding discrepancies in evidence or data
As you gain experience, you'll have opportunities to mentor new trainees and develop project management skills by working to meet deadlines and budgets.
Qualifications
We offer a comprehensive training and development program, including support to complete the ACA qualification, with college/study days, mentoring, and a dedicated buddy. The qualification pathway for this role is the ACA. For more information, click here.
