Group Financial Accountant

A technically strong and commercially aware Group Financial Accountant is sought to join a fast-paced, acquisitive Private Equity-backed organisation.
Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of group reporting, statutory accounts, and financial controls, while supporting senior stakeholders with high-quality financial insight. This role offers broad exposure across reporting, treasury, compliance, and strategic projects within a multi-entity, acquisitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver accurate and timely group consolidation, management reporting, and board reporting with clear and insightful commentary.
* Prepare and deliver statutory accounts and act as the key point of contact for the external audit process.
* Ensure accounting policies are up to date and consistently applied across the group.
* Manage and maintain strong financial controls, including revenue recognition, balance sheet reconciliations, and payment approvals.
* Prepare cashflow forecasts and oversee treasury processes, ensuring effective liquidity and covenant management.
* Ensure compliance with audit, tax, and banking requirements, managing financial risks across the group.
* Support M&A activity, including post-acquisition integration and financial systems alignment.
* Contribute to strategic initiatives such as financial due diligence, refinancing, and system implementations.
* Partner with senior stakeholders to provide technical accounting expertise and support decision-making.
To Be Suitable
* ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified, ideally trained within a top-tier or high-quality audit firm.
* Proven experience in a Group or Financial Accounting role within a Private Equity-backed, multi-entity environment.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in statutory reporting and audit management.
* Experience operating in a fast-paced, acquisitive business environment.
* Strong Excel and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
* Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders across the business.
* Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
