About the Opportunity
Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.
Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Jacobs are seeking a Senior Scheduler to be responsible for the direction and co-ordination of all Project Controls activities associated with the design, construction and commissioning of all plant and construction systems to deliver two EPRs at SZC within safety, quality, time and cost milestones for a specific area / scope of work. This position supports the development of an overall integrated plan and budget for the project and to establish effective and fully transparent reporting and controls across the whole project. Key responsibilities will be:
1. Production and control of cost and resource loaded (where applicable) baseline and current schedule, utilising work breakdown structures
2. Adherence to scheduling and project control standards across the project
3. Overseeing and ensuring schedules are updated to an agreed timeframe
4. Support cost control, risk and change management teams where appropriate
5. Support the production of monthly reports through the provision of intelligent information and analysis
6. Producing analysis of trends, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities
7. Analysis and integration of schedules provided by contractors and suppliers
8. Establish and foster working relationships with all appropriate stakeholders pursuant to the discharging of your responsibilities or in aid of theirs
9. Responsible for supporting schedule management and reporting for SZC project – including cost and earned value reporting and management
10. Provide ad hoc support to the wider SZC Project Controls function to develop the capability of the team
11. Adherence to the current monthly Project Controls cycle and processes and support with any future development
Here's What You'll Need:
12. Degree or equivalent suitable qualification
13. Experience in major construction projects
14. Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques within an enterprise environment
15. Good working knowledge of P6
16. Practical working knowledge of Earned Value, Scheduling and Project Control processes and tools
17. High level of analytical and numerate skills
18. Skilled at interfacing and operating in a large corporate environment
19. Ability to work in a team as well as on their own initiative
20. Strive for quality, excellence, and continuous improvement in everything you do
21. Understanding of engineering design and licensing in a UK context ideally within a regulated environment
