Position: Field Sales Manager - Northern England & Scotland
Salary: 36-40k basic + 6-10k OTE + Car
Coverage: Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh
The Role
You'll be joining a leading international supplier of component parts, spares, and accessories for drinks vending to clients in markets including coffee, soft drinks, water, and alcoholic drinks. The role primarily focuses on business development within a portfolio of around 200 active accounts, including many major brands. You'll also prospect to find and win new customers.
Typical Duties
* Sales planning and management in a fast-paced distribution environment (expectations typically; 3 productive field sales days, 1 regional office based telemarketing day, 1 administration/planning day)
* Be the first technical contact for customers, promoting the best solutions and packages to meet their needs from the complete company product portfolio
* Meet and exceed the territory's sales & margin targets and monthly activity metrics (customer visits & quotations)
* Prepare and generate product line quotations adhering to company pricing guidelines and customer logistics needs
* Ensure effective and timely administration (prompt quotations, follow-ups, CRM updates, visit reports, quote status, weekly diaries)
* Provide accurate rolling sales and product demand forecasts
* Book customer meetings and plan territory coverage effectively
* Apply good sales process knowledge and start from cold when necessary
* Grow the business by generating new leads and retaining existing customers
* Collaborate with internal sales teams to achieve shared goals
The Person
Candidates should have experience in a field sales environment, preferably within the drinks dispensing industry (beer, post-mix, coffee, vending & water). Technical sales experience is advantageous. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, a proactive 'can do' attitude, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team. They should maintain composure under pressure, prioritize effectively, and plan activities to meet targets. Education and on-the-job training qualifications are beneficial. Must be IT literate (Microsoft Office, CRM & ERP systems) and able to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
