Your Role
As a One to One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with diverse special educational and learning needs. Your mission? To empower them to gain independence and thrive within the curriculum and school life at Herdley Bank School.
Your Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to pupils in various settings: 1:1, groups, and during unstructured times.
* Accompany pupils on school visits to enrich their learning experiences.
* Collaborate with the SENDCo to foster social skills and positive behavior.
* Help develop, deliver, and monitor individual learning programs.
* Support pupils who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
* Assist in addressing issues that cause anxiety or emotional responses.
* Maintain accurate records as required by the school.
* Engage in collaborative planning with teaching staff for effective support.
* Contribute to the delivery of the Key Stage 2 and 3 curriculum.
* Participate in working groups and team initiatives.
* Attend weekly staff meetings and relevant training events.
What We’re Looking For
* Relevant experience in a similar environment or appropriate qualifications.
* Academic qualifications to at least GCSE standard and professional qualifications to at least NVQ level 2.
* Basic first aid knowledge.
* Ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy in record-keeping.
* Strong time management skills and flexibility to meet job demands.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a busy team environment.
* Effective oral and written communication skills across various contexts.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training for personal development.
* Knowledge of child development and learning styles is a plus.
* Understanding of ACES and childhood trauma is beneficial; training will be provided.
* Access to a vehicle and a full driving license are required due to location.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check upon successful application.

* Term time only role, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.
* Working hours: 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri) and 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Tues).
