Are you looking for a new challenge in a supportive and welcoming environment? We’re looking for a qualified Teacher of English to work with our students across all key stages to develop their learning - ECTs are also welcomed.
Our energetic and highly-motivated English department is actively engaged in an integrated programme of reading, writing, speaking and listening and drama activities. Pro-active assessment, active learning and positive relationships are cornerstones of the department’s philosophy.
At Key Stage 3, all students follow core schemes of work that are highly creative and promote an active learning environment. At Key Stages 3 and 4, students are generally taught in mixed-ability groups, although there is a single high-ability set in each of the timetabling bands.
At GCSE, English Language and English Literature follow AQA specifications.
A Level English Literature (Edexcel) and A Level English Language and Literature (AQA) are consistently amongst the most popular subject choices of sixth form students. Results are consistently impressive with value added at every Key Stage.
