Protocol Education is supporting a thriving BS1 secondary school in the recruitment of a Design & Technology Technician to join their dynamic and supportive DT department.

Experience within a school setting is desirable but not essential.
The Role – As Design & Technology Technician, you will:
* Prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons
* Maintain and organise specialist DT spaces
* Support staff and students during practical sessions
* Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
* Assist with stock control and ordering of materials
You will play a vital role in enabling safe, creative and engaging practical lessons across multiple DT disciplines.
⏰ Working Pattern & Contract
* 30 hours per week
* Term time only, including 5 INSET days (39 weeks per year)
* Permanent contract
* 6-month probationary period
The current working pattern is Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Salary: £29,064 – £31,022 per annum (gross), paid pro rata plus holiday pay

The Design & Technology Department
The DT department is a busy, energetic and well-equipped environment, offering:
* KS4 Product Design, Textiles, and Hospitality & Catering
* KS5 Product Design and Textiles
* A broad KS3 curriculum covering paper and board, coding, textiles, electronics, metals, timbers and food
Students experience a modern and forward-thinking curriculum designed to develop practical skills, creativity and technical understanding.
Specialist rooms and equipment support high-quality teaching across disciplines, making this a rewarding and varied technical role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
