Location: Quarry Centre, Aberdeen
Duration: Permanent, Part Time
Roles that require PVG Membership: We pay the PVG membership cost initially (18 £ for existing members or 59 £ for non‑members) which will be deducted from the first month's salary. This applies only to roles with a full‑time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above.
About the role
The successful applicant must have statutory social work experience, good communication skills (verbal and written), and be committed to their own learning and development.
Minimum qualifications
* BA Social Work qualification or equivalent DipSW, CQSW
* SSSC Registration
* PVG
* A full current UK Driving Licence (desirable)
Key responsibilities and capabilities
* The ability to assess and balance risk and protective factors within a child protection framework
* Assess needs, formulate, and implement effective social work interventions
* Prioritise tasks, manage own workload and be accountable for quality case work with children and families to achieve positive outcomes
* Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and build rapport with children, families and other professionals
* Negotiate effectively to reach a resolution and successfully implement change
* Deal with complex issues in a sensitive and appropriate manner
* Use information management systems to maintain accurate information and high‑quality data
* Analyse and evaluate complex information to produce concise reports to inform quality casework and business decisions
* Provide social work interventions to children and families and present concise reports to internal and external audiences, including in court
* Use research findings and statutory guidance to inform social work practice
