🔔 Locum Opportunity – Band 7/8a Clinical Pharmacist (Wards Cover) | Cumbria
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 7/8a Clinical Pharmacist to provide wards-based clinical cover within a well-established NHS hospital in Cumbria. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist seeking an ongoing locum role, offering competitive rates and on-site accommodation.
📍 Start Date: ASAP – ongoing
💷 Pay Rate: £32–£42 ph umbrella company (or its PAYE equivalent)
🏠 On-site accommodation available
🩺 Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services across inpatient wards
* Review, optimise, and reconcile medicines to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient prescribing
* Participate in ward rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making as part of the multidisciplinary team
* Provide medicines-related advice to medical, nursing, and allied health professionals
* Support safe discharge planning, including patient counselling and TTO reviews
* Identify, resolve, and proactively prevent medicines-related issues in line with NHS policies and guidelines
✅ Essential Requirements
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
* Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree
* Proven previous NHS hospital experience at Band 7 or above
* Ability to work confidently and independently across wards with minimal supervision
* Strong clinical knowledge and excellent communication skills
