Maintenance Engineer

£30.15 per hour (PAYE)
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (Days/Nights)
gap technical is proud to represent an industry-leading business in their search for a Contract Maintenance Engineer to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide fast and effective maintenance support by responding to equipment breakdowns.
* Carry out planned/scheduled maintenance and proactively tackle recurring machine faults.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose issues efficiently using machine history and documentation.
* Work collaboratively with production/operations teams to ensure smooth manufacturing flow.
* Maintain and repair machinery to a high standard, ensuring maximum uptime.
* Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce engineering downtime.
Candidate Requirements
* Ideally a time-served engineering apprenticeship.
* 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (minimum).
* Experience within Food, FMCG, or Automated Storage industries (advantageous but not essential).
* Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
* Knowledge of mechanical drive systems and pneumatics (highly desirable).
