About the role:
We’re looking for a senior and credible Health & Safety expert to set, monitor and maintain health and safety strategy and policy throughout the organisation. You will be a trusted source of advice and support to all areas of the business including the Board and Executive and will provide assurance to the Board and CEO on matters relating to Paradigm’s management of H&S related risk. Just as importantly, you will approach H&S in a collaborative way, with credibility and exceptional business partnering skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading the Health & Safety function; setting monitoring and maintaining H&S strategy and policy
* Acting as the Competent Person for the organisation
* Leading and motivating the H&S, Facilities and Fleet teams
* Being the voice of H&S to the Board, Audit & Risk Committee and the Executive
* Promoting a safety culture and best practice in safety management, offering practical guidance, expert advice and support to managers and team members
* Providing assurance to Executive and Board for property, employee and customer H&S related areas on a programmed and ad hoc basis to ensure compliance with all appropriate legislative and other standards
* Staying up to date with new legislation, analysing the impact this may have on our operations and Corporate Risk rating
* Providing assurance on organisational compliance, ensuring that the CEO and Board are alerted to any issues which might be a cause for concern or a source of organisational risk
* Leading Facilities management across the business
* Leading the Fleet team responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness of around 200 light commercial vehicles
Our Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience of H&S policy, strategy setting and oversight along with an appropriate qualification such as CIMIOSH or equivalent and considerable experience in an H&S environment.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

* Strong relationship management skills and ability to exercise positive influence at all levels in the organisation
* The ability to think strategically in order to provide assurance on overall systems and processes to Executive team and Board members
* Sound professional judgement in decision making employing risk management principles
* High level of numeracy and experience of using systems to generate high quality management information
* Experience of managing complex risk frameworks including establishing effective controls
* Exceptional communication skills with an appreciation of our diverse customer group
* A positive approach to improving processes
