Position: Crematorium Assistant
Location: Dundee Crematorium.
Job Type: 24 Hours per week. This role requires flexibility to work 5 days per week including every Saturday, with variable start and finish times in line with business needs.
Salary: £15,724.80 per annum

We have a vacancy for a Crematorium Assistant to join our dedicated team at Dundee Crematorium. As a Crematorium Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the crematorium, contributing to an environment of respect and dignity while providing essential assistance to both our staff and the families we serve.

Here is what a typical day could look like for you:
As a Crematorium Assistant, you will provide essential support and assistance in various aspects of crematorium operations, this will include... To undertake the full range of gardening, cemetery and horticultural tasks.
Responsible for opening and closing the site gates and book of remembrance room.
Maintain the grounds to the highest standard in accordance with recognised horticultural and grounds maintenance practices.
Operate the cremators and ancillary equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
Ensure the highest standards of housekeeping both in and outside the Chapel and ancillary rooms.
Manage various administrative tasks which include, the accurate processing of sensitive information and legal documentation in regard to cremation and burial paperwork.
Communicating regularly with clients through all avenues be it email, face-to-face and telephone as well as preparing letters.
Coordinate with Funeral Directors, Ministers, and families to ensure specific service requests are accurately recorded.
Prepares chapels for each service considering client needs including varying religious requirements.
Conduct witness interments and scattering of the cremated remains.
Ensuring the consistent delivery of the highest levels of client service.
This role will suit someone who: Able to work effectively in physically demanding environments.
Excellent customer service experience and ability to build rapport with people easily.
High attention to detail is essential.
Proactive approach and willingness to communicate effectively with a range of people, both in-person, over the phone and via email.
Ability to successfully multitask and meet multiple deadlines.
Computer literate in addition to experience using Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
Presentable at all times, acting with professional conduct and showing empathy.
