Homeownership Officer

Based at Florian House, Ipswich - Covering Ipswich and the surrounding areas

£32,887 - £34,617 per year plus £600 car allowance

37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 17:30pm

We are looking to recruit a Homeownership Officer to join the Homeownership team in Ipswich. You will be responsible for delivering a responsive and customer focused homeownership management service. In this role, you will be part of a strong and experienced team, where training and development are of prime importance to encourage staff progression. You will have the opportunity to develop your team and contribute to delivering a customer‑focused service.


The role of Homeownership Officer will include:

* Delivering a high‑quality leasehold management service, aligned with relevant legislation, internal policies and good practice
* Managing leaseholder expectations regarding communal repairs and providing support, where appropriate, regarding other repairs issues
* Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
* Providing advice and responding to queries on all aspects of service charge budgets and accounts
* Working with a range of external agencies to resolve a range of issues affecting resident welfare including domestic abuse, anti‑social behaviour and safeguarding
* Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tasks related to managing leasehold properties


Skills and experiences:

* Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
* An understanding of homeownership and leasehold management
* Previous experience in managing staff
* Prior experience of delivering high quality customer services
* Experience in complaint handling, will be pivotal in your pursuit to provide a positive experience to a diverse group of customers with enthusiasm and confidence
* Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
* Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
* Excellent customer service and negotiating skills
* An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
* Travel will be a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
