An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role includes overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based position at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Possess excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the primary contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims accurately and promptly, and assisting in renewal negotiations,
* Organize and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports as needed,
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle all credit applications and related documentation,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation and insolvency cases, pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Conduct risk assessments for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with Credit Control, senior management, and other departments,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions before approval,
* Visit customers and company sites as needed,
